I bought a Toyota Prius last month. Apparently I will get it in 11 months from now. Waiting this long for a car doesn't come easy.
I decided on the Prius because of the promise that I would be able to reduce my number of trips to the gas station. Another reason is that I could get my car serviced 5 minutes from my house, instead of driving into the hostile driving battleground of Boston. I'm sick of the expense and inconvenience of maintaining a BMW. I want something that is simple and easy.
Then I thought to myself, "Wait a second. Have I become boring?" Isn't the point of having something exotic a kind of statement that you are willing to make a real sacrifice for something totally amazing? Does making life simpler equate to making it more boring?
Great simplicity is about having something sufficiently transparent that it doesn't interfere, but definitely has to have enough bling to be noticed and appreciated. I've decided on an after-market option of putting in leather seats for my Prius. If I manage to wait that long ...
