Amidst all of the Godiva and other fancy chocolate giving (and guiltless consuming) during the winter holidays, this little gift from a friend at the Lab piqued my interest. I've had cranberries before and sugar as well, but never arranged in such a simple and delicate aesthetics such as pictured here. Red and white is such a powerful color combination. The old Japanese samurai movies used these colors brilliantly in swordfighting scenes in the snow (you can guess what the red is from)—most recently the movie Kill Bill captured that spectacular combination of colors at the conclusion of Part 1.

To make these little fellas, I think this recipe I found on the web most closely matches what I see before me. Bon apetit!
