    unconnecting - reconnecting

rushing out of the lab on thursday, after frantically trying to "finish" what has no finish. the intense desire to "finish" is driven by the anticipation of leaving, signing out, disconnecting in the hope of becoming reconnected.
up late: finishing continues in parallel with preparing, packing. at 5:30 we leave for the airport. it is the friday before the start of school vacation: the airport is already vibrating, tuned at the intersection of vacation energy and the watch for terror. in the check-in lines, fathers & mothers with their children in tow struggle with their various collections of baggage; the line for security has exploding down the hall but is moving; people break out of the line to grab a coffee or because their flight is called; we progress until are able to lay our possesion out for the scanner. Finally, victorious we emerge and are welcomed into the inner sactum only to wait once more for a boarding announcement. 3 planes, 9 hours later we finally find ourselves warmed by the sun on that beach of our dreams looking out at the immense stretch of green-blue ocean. finally we are in a place were we begin to reconnect...
